Deck Plans
This page will show the progression of the deck ramp. We really need materials. Lowes and Home Depot say they *might* be able to donate, but we are still not sure how much. These basic ramp plans are the overview they need to get an idea of how much material we need. Your material donations will not only help our Granny get in and out of the house by herself, but I will place your name/business in the acknowledgements page. It's small, I know, but it's the only way I know to give thanks. If there is more I can do to show my appreciation, please let me know!
Keep in mind, that at the end of the ramp, are paver stones @ 16"x16". I could have brought the ramp to the driveway, using a square landing, and continuing the ramp at 90 degrees, but my basic calculations showed the paver stones being cheaper than the lumber.
The slope is estimated at 1:11. That is, we drop 1" for every 11". The ADA says it should be 1:12, but this is for an electric wheelchair, and will have no problems with the small change in slope.
